Progress is not a slogan. It is a diagnostic score, a weekly Prelims and Mains paper, a copy with mentor comments, and a batch small enough (~35) that someone actually reads your answers — the same way we have trained aspirants since 2009.
Large halls of 150–200 students cannot evaluate copies or track weekly movement. FIRST IAS INSTITUTE keeps batches at about 35 students so diagnostic tests, weekly papers, daily writing and interview mocks produce a file of evidence: scores, comments, attendance.

Each stage has a number or a frequency you can hold us to.
Before the batch settles, you sit a diagnostic — objective questions plus a short writing sample. That score is the baseline. Later weekly tests are compared with this paper, not with a topper’s Instagram marksheet.
Progress in month one is coverage of NCERT-level basics — Polity, History, Geography, Economy, Environment — before current-affairs volume. Classes follow the published NCERT-first methodology, then printed chapter-wise books.
Every week you sit the Prelims + Mains mock cycle — not a test series parked for the last 60 days. Rank, accuracy and repeating mistakes go into an error notebook.
Mains is a writing exam. Daily practice (intro–body–conclusion, headings, examples) is scheduled in class so progress is counted in copies written, not hours of video watched.

Personal feedback is possible because the hall is ~35, not 150–200. One-to-one remarks after tests tell you what to revise this week — a conversation, not a generic “work harder” announcement.
The progress monitor holds attendance, sectional scores, full-mock ranks and writing remarks. Mentors review that file so a slipping GS paper or ignored CSAT shows up before the attempt is lost.
Full-length GS + CSAT under exam timing. Progress here is accuracy, attempts and CSAT qualifying comfort — measured every week in the mock series, then in dedicated simulation windows closer to the UPSC date.
Full GS / Essay / Optional-pattern papers, written in time, evaluated like the weekly Mains mocks. Simulation is the same method at exam length: you cannot hide a weak Ethics paper in a 150-word class exercise.
After Mains, progress is DAF-proof answers and mock interviews — education, optional, home state, work, hobbies — so the Personality Test is a conversation you have already practised, not a first-time quiz.
