HOW TO APPLY FOR UPSC Civil Services Exam

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE):

  • Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the age, educational, and other eligibility criteria specified by UPSC.
  • Online Registration:Visit the official UPSC website. Click on the “Online Application for Various Examinations” link. Select the Civil Services Examination.

Breaking Down International Relations Preparation:

  • Part I Registration:

    Fill in personal details, educational qualification, and other required information.Choose the examination center.

  • Generate Registration ID:

    After Part I, a registration ID is generated. Note it down for future reference.

  • Part II Registration:

    Log in with your registration ID and date of birth. Complete the payment process for the application fee. Select the examination center (if not chosen in Part I). Upload scanned photograph and signature as per the specified guidelines.

  • Final Submission:

    Review the application form for accuracy. Agree to the declaration and submit the application.

  • Payment of Application Fee:

    Pay the prescribed fee using online or offline modes.

  • Download Confirmation Page:

    After successful submission, download and print the confirmation page.

  • Admit Card:

    UPSC releases the admit card a few weeks before the examination. Download it from the official website.

  • Prepare for the Exam:

    Utilize the time before the exam for thorough preparation. Refer to the UPSC syllabus and previous year question papers.

  • Appear for the Preliminary Exam:

    Take the Preliminary examination on the scheduled date.

  • Appear for the Main Exam:

    If successful in the Prelims, appear for the Main examination.

  • Interview/Personality Test:

    Candidates who qualify in the Main exam are called for the interview/personality test.

  • Final Result:

    UPSC releases the final result based on the candidate’s performance in the Main exam and interview.

  • Training and Allocation:

    Candidates who clear the final round undergo training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) and are then allocated to various services.
